Fuel monitoring

Companies such as: manufacturing, trading, distributing goods, etc. one of the most important part of their business have transport. Depending on the nature of their work and volume, they have a number of vehicles, from a few to a few dozen, or even more.

Among the main challenges of these companies is the monitoring of fuel (oil) consumption.

In our GPS tracking system we have several variants to monitor fuel consumption. They are:

  • Calculation of consumption through pre-defined average values for summer / winter seasons, separately;
  • Reading the tank level by reading the vehicle CAN data, and
  • Installation of additional sensor (probe) in the tank.

Consumption calculation through average values predetermined for summer/winter seasons, separately- recommended for small vehicles whose consumption does not vary much depending on the load or terrain of the road traveled. This group includes small transport vehicles, such as: cars, pickups, vans, etc.

Reading the tank level by reading the vehicle CAN data- small and medium transport vehicles we install an additional device which can read the vehicle CAN data. This fuel monitoring mode is recommended to be installed on vehicles moving on long distances. This group includes small and medium vehicles, such as: cars, pickups, vans, trucks, small trucks, etc.

Installation of additional sensor (probe) in the tank- it is a capacitive level sensor recommended for large transport vehicles which are equipped with a tank with a volume of several hundred to over 1000 liters. Monitoring the fuel consumption of these vehicles is very important. Capacitive level measurement offers very high accuracy, which usually, depending on the size of the tank, is around 300 ml.
